This image portrays the library ruins of the palace Domus Flavia. Built on the Palatine Hill in the year 81 B.C. by the order of the Emporer Domitian. The Palatine Hill is the most central of the seven hills of Rome and forms one of the oldest parts of the city. It is considered to be the birthplace of the Italian capital and is believed to have been inhabited since the year 1000 B.C.
