An impressive view of Caernarfon (Caernarvon) Castle in Gwynedd, North Wales, with numerous boats on the water in the foreground. The castle was built by the English King Edward I from around 1283, on the site of a Roman fortress and Norman motte. The architect was Master James of Saint George (1230?1309), also known as Jacques de Saint-Georges d'Esperanche from Savoy, France.
