Dress of the reigns of King Henry IV and V, 1399-1422. . The collar of SS, copied from the effigy of Joan of Navarre, queen of Henry IV, was worn by distinguished persons in the reign, but its origins are unknown. Based on brass monument of Lady Halle in Herne Church, Kent, and an effigy of Lady de Thorpe, Ashwelthorpe Church, Norfolk.
