Oath of Allegiance taken in Moscow by members of the famous 'Battalion of Death,' composed entirely of Russian women and led by Madame Botchkareva - June 1917. The battalion famously stood and fought during the great retreat in Galicia while other divisions retreated, and each girl carried a dose of cyanide of potassium to take in the event of capture.
