This plaque is in the church just below the national monument to the victories of the Marne at Mondemont. The national monument to the victories of the Marne at Monde. It is 33m high monolith designed by architect Paul Bigot and sculpted by Henri Bouchard. Its made of 2000 tons of concrete and stone and overlooks the Gond marshes it was completed in 1939. It is dedicated to all those whose have fought foriegn invaders, the site was chosen by Marechal Foch to commemorate one of the most crucial battles in the seven day battle of the "Miracle of the Marne\" when Paris was saved.
