A motor soup kitchen presented to the Red Cross Society by Messrs. Burberry's of Haymarket in 1915. The vehicle was of a 'very compact and serviceable design' and had 'been made to a special specification approved by the Society and supervised by the engineer of the R.A.C.'. The caption states that, "Hitherto the title shown on the car, "The Burberry," has only been associated with teh firm's weatherproof topcoats.' The firm also, of course, provided the indispensible trench coat for officers during the Great War.
