Chinese Fiddles - Two kinds of 'Saw Chine' or Chinese fiddles are shown here. The first is a Saw Duang, identified by the jewels around one of th pegs. The other, with carved pegs, is called the Saw Oo. These curious fiddles have no finger boards and the intonation is rather uncertain. Like most Chinese fiddles, these have a bow string inserted between the two fiddle strings thus enabling either to be played.
