Pencil drawing dated 1888 drawn in Paris by the actress Sarah Bernhardt (1844-1923) of Walford Graham Robertson (artist) (1867-1948). Graham was deeply interested in the theatre and by the age of thirty had designed costumes for five major plays of which he received praise. He also painted many portraits of his friends and the leading actresses of the time, so the association here with Bernhardt is not a surprise.
