A visit to the menagerie at Exeter Change, one of the many picturesque buildings in the Strand destroyed by road widening in 1830. Built on the site of St. Clement Dane's rectory by William Cecil, Lord Burleigh, in 1600, it was originally called Exeter House. Nash, the architect, planned to replace it by a similar bazaar, but instead the Lower Arcade between Adelaide Street and the Strand was constructed. Coutts Bank now stands approximately on the site depicted here.
