Gordon McLennan (1924-2011), former leader of the Communist Party of Great Britain, its National Organiser 1966-1975 and its General Secretary 1976-1989. When the CPGB was dissolved in 1991 he joined the Communist Party of Scotland. Seen here campaigning for Britain to leave the European Common Market during a General Election. Gordon Ashberry stood as the Communist Party candidate for the Sheffield Park constituency in the General Elections of 1974 and 1979.
