Monument to Catherine the Great (Catherine II) in Catherine Square, a public garden in St Petersburg, Russia. It was installed in 1873. Below the statue of Catherine are figures representing Potemkin (politician and lover), Princess Dashkova (friend), Derzhavin (poet) and General Suvorov. The Alexandrinsky Theatre can be seen in the background -- it is the oldest Russian national theatre, founded in 1756.
