Mackeson Memorial, The Mall, Peshawar, North West Frontier Province. Lieutenant Colonel Frederick Mackeson (1807 - 1853) was the Commissioner of Peshawar and was stabbed to death in his court by an agrieved Afridi Tribesman, who felt an 'insult' had not been properly addressed by the Commissioner.
