A very young Nicholas II (seated, centre) pictured with his English cousins, Prince George of Wales (later King George V) on the left, and Prince Albert Victor of Wales (later the Duke of Clarence), taken on a visit to Denmark around 1871. The childrens' mothers, Alexandra (later Queen) and Dagmar (the Empress Maria Feoderovna) were sisters and so the children saw each other regularly.
