A selection of pottery manufactured by the firm Grimwades of Staffordshire, featuring the designs of Bruce Bairnsfather, the artist whose cartoons featured in The Bystander during World War I. The Bystander licensed the designs to Grimwades who continued to produce items from 1917 right up to the 1950s. Included are vases, a jug, an ash tray and possibly a biscuit barrel or pickle jar.
