Jean Charles Guillaume, Le Prevost de Beaumont (1726-1823), lawyer and secretary to the clergy. He was imprisoned after denouncing the stockpiling of grain, spending 22 years in five different prisons. During his time in prison there were 11 famines, and various people got rich from the sale of stockpiled grain. Seen here in chains in the dungeon of the Bastille Prison, Paris, where he was held between 1768 and 1769.
