Variegated Fairy-wren - female (Malurus lamberti rogers). Near Manning Gorge, Australia. The subspecies rogersi previously a full species known as Lavender-flanked Fairy-wren and restricted to rocky sandstone escarpments and gorges of the northern part of the Kimberley region of Western Australia. Other subspecies of these chestnut-shouldered fairy-wrens are found throughout much of Australia.
