Great Egret - With lacy scapular plumes or aigrettes (Ardea alba modesta). Photographed at dawn at Buffalo Creek, Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia. Inhabits both coastal mudflats and estuaries and inland wetlands and flooded pasture. Common right throughout Australia in suitable habitat.
