Region around the Horsehead Nebula in the constellation of Orion. The Horsehead is the small, distinctive dark dust cloud (center right) in the red cloud IC 434. The hydrogen gas of IC 434 is lit up by hot star Sigma Orionis (top right). The bright star at center left is Zeta Orionis. Its intensity was reduced by masking to reveal the structure of nebula NGC 2024 below it. The two blue reflection nebulae at lower center are IC 435 (bottom) & NGC 2023. North is at left.
