This sagittal (from the side) T1 weighted MRI of the brain, demonstrates a round mass within the atrium of the lateral ventricle with signal identical to cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). This represents an arachnoid cyst which is a benign collection of CSF sequestered by in intra-arachnoid membrane.
