The Cycladic Island of Santor穩ni (Th穩ra), Greece has a spectacular caldera with an active volcanic cone in the center. The volcano exploded between 1660 and 1613 BC (according to the latest dating), burying the island in a hail of ashes and slag and sending a devastating tsunami towards Crete.
