Green Ephedra (Ephedra viridis); a woody shrub native to the western United States, also known as Indian Tea and Green Mormon Tea. As these names indicate, it was used by Native Americans and colonists to make an herbal tea with diuretic and decongestant properties. A related Asian species is the source of the drug Ephedrine.
