Wilford "Wolf" Guindon, one of the original founders of the community of Monteverde, Costa Rica. The town was founded by Quakers from the United States escaping the Korean War in the 1950s (Quakers are pacifists). The land they farmed was eventually set aside for conservation. The Reserva Biologica Bosque Nuboso Monteverde (Monteverde Cloud Forest Preserve) is now a major tourist attraction.
