The view from the Kalalau Lookout on Kauai, Hawaii, has been described as one of the most beautiful and inspiring on the planet. From this vantage point of about 4,000 feet above sea level, one of the highest that can be reached by car on Kauai, you can get spectacular views into the Kalalau Valley and of a section of the Napali Coast. It is best viewed and photographed in the morning before clouds roll in. It is near Waimea Canyon, a relatively short drive further on from the canyon. The grueling Kalalau Trail, popular with hikers, starts from near the lookout.
