Senita (Pachycereus schottii) inhabits extreme southcentral Arizona south deep into Mexico. It is intolerant of any frost. The shaggy hair-like spines on the mature stem tips has given it the common name of Senita, meaning senile or old woman. Photographed in northern Sonora Mexico.
