A bromeliad epiphyte, (Tillandsia fasciculata), growing on the trunk of a bald cypress, (Taxodium distichum); Corkscrew Swamp Audubon Sanctuary, Florida. The epiphyte is in bloom. It has many common names including giant airplant, cardinal airplant, stiff-leaved wild-pine and common wild-pine. The species is listed by the state of Florida as an endangered species.
