Scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of staphylococcus saccharolyticus (0.6-1.0 micrometers in diameter). This is a strictly anaerobic gram-positive, coagulase-positive member of the bacterial genus Staphylococcus, it's non-motile, does not produce spores, and forms white to gray colonies. The optimum growth temperature is 37簞C (it does not grow at 15簞C), it is sensitive to novobiocin and lysostaphin, and found in human blood and on the skin. Image width: 9.85 micrometers.
