Golgi's picture of a dog's olfactory bulb. This image shows a dog's olfactory bulb (OB); a cell structure which transmits smell information from the nose to the brain, creating the 'sense of smell'. This image also represents the earliest form of modern neuroscience imaging techniques. It uses a stain developed by Camillo Golgi (1843 - 1926) from Silver Nitrate and Potassium Dichromate.
