Copy of "The Dying Gaul" at the Czech Republic National Museum, Prague. The original was a Roman marble copy of a lost Hellenistic sculpture (~225 BC) by an unknown sculptor celebrating Pergamon's victory over the Celtic Galatians in Anatolia. It depicts a dying Celt, a Gallic warrior, naked, lying on his fallen shield with his sword and horn beside him. It is also wrongly called the "Wounded Gladiator", "Roman Gladiator", "Murmillo Dying", and the "Dying Trumpeter".
