The stone circles are a reflection of early ritual and spiritual life of the early Bronze Age (1500 BC). They are thought to have significance in fertility rites. There are seven circles and alignments on this site, uncovered when excavating peat near Cookstown, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland (Ulster).
