Mayan fresco from The Temple of the Murals at Bonampak, an ancient Maya archaeological site in the Mexican state of Chiapas. The murals, considered the finest examples of classic Maya painting, were produced circa 790 CE. This reproduction, a detail of a war scene, is in the National Museum of Anthropology in Mexico City, Mexico.
