Colossus of Rhodes. This vast bronze statue of the Greek sun god Helios, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, stood at the entrance to the harbor at Rhodes, a Greek island in the Aegean Sea. The statue, completed in 282 BC, was 108 feet tall. It was destroyed 56 years later in an earthquake.
