The Renwick Gallery is part of the Smithsonian American Art Museum. The focus of the collection housed in the 1859 building, designed by James Renwick (who also was the architect of St.Patrick's Cathedral), is American crafts and decorative arts from the 19th to the 21st Century. The building is on Pennsylvania Avenue one block from the White House, and once housed the Corcoran collection. The Renwick Gallery is part of the Corcoran Gallery of Art. It is also one of the Smithsonian Buildings.
