Zionist cooperative settlement (moshav ovdim), Nahalal, Israel. The town, founded in 1921, was the first such settlement. Moshe Dayan (1915-1981), Israeli military leader and politician, grew up and was buried here. Moshavim are similar to kibbutzim, but in a moshav the farms, of a fixed size, are usually owned individually.
