The ACTS field station and canopy walkway, off of the Rio Sucusari, is a facility that allows biologists and ecotourists alike to study and experience a tropical forest canopy. The resource is an amazing one: over 500 meters (1,500+ feet) of walkway connecting giant rainforest trees with tree platforms and a highest point of 35m (115+ feet) above the forest floor. Canopy walkways allow biologists to study species that only inhabit forest canopies. The advent of canopy walkways has greatly developed the scientific understanding of forest canopies and the wildlife that lives in these lofty retreats.
