South Island Takahe, Porphyrio hochstetteri, at Zealandia, formerly the Karori Wildlife Sanctuary, a protected natural area in Wellington, New Zealand. The flightless takahe was once thought to be extinct, before it was rediscovered in the Murchison Mountains.
