Bearded Fireworm (Hermodice carunculata) can grow up to 12 inches; average size is 3-5 inches. Typically nocturnal feeders, found on reefs, coral heads, sponges, sand and rubble. Their diet consists of hydroids, a variety of corals, and anemones. Their "bristles" can cause painful and long lasting irritaion. Photographed in Grand Cayman.
