Male black-winged damselfly, Calopteryx maculata, also known as the ebony jewelwing, in McCurtain County, Oklahoma. Females are duller in color with a white spot near tip of the wings. It is abundant throughout the eastern half of Canada and the United States, preferring the vicinity of streams and small rivers.
