Male banded tree anole, Anolis transversalis, in Loreto, Peru. Females are prominently barred, with broad transverse markings that are reduced to spots in the male. Both sexes have conspicuous sky-blue eyes. An arboreal species of the primary forest, it is widely distributed within the Amazon Basin.
