Red Kangaroo (Macropus rufus) also known as the Great Red Kanagaroo. The largest of all kangaroos, and the largest surviving marsupial. The males, "boomers" can hop 30 feet. The females are called "blue flyers", because of their coloration. All young are called "joey". Because they live in the hottest, driest areas of Australia, living in groups called mobs, they are active and feed mostly from dusk til dawn, and rest during the daylight hours. Range: Australia.
