Male Albert's Lyrebird (Menura alberti) performing a seldom-witnessed courtship display. Lyrebirds are large, ornate songbirds with incredibly strong, beautiful voices. This lesser-known species is performing a stomping, quivering display on vines it has trampled into a stage, raising its shimmering tail until it forms a dome over its body, all the while singing richly enhanced versions of other birds' calls.
