The Western Chuckwalla (Sauromalus obesus obesus) is found in rocky outcrops, lava flows, and rocky hillsides of the Great Basin, Mohave, and Sonoran Deserts. This one is avoiding capture by inflating its body in a tight crevice in Joshua Tree National Park, California.
