The Western Chuckwalla (Sauromalus obesus obesus) is found in rocky outcrops, lava flows, and rocky hillsides of the Great Basin, Mohave, and Sonoran Deserts. This one is wedging itself into a rock crevice to avoid capture in Red Rock Canyon State Park, California.
