The Manchester Outrages, 1867. Members of the Fenians, the Irish Republican Brotherhood, attacking a horse-drawn police van in Manchester, England transporting two arrested leaders of their Brotherhood. This resulted in the arrest and subsequent execution of three of them for the murder of a police officer travelling inside the van.
