Athenian statesman, orator, and general Alcibiades (c. 450 404 BC) when a boy, disturbed by a teamster whilst playing dice in the road with his friends. He called upon the man to stop until he had thrown and on the driver's refusal flung himself in front of the cart. From Hutchinson's History of the Nations, published 1915.
