Illuminated page, with bordering, after the Froissart M.S. in the British Museum. The illumination shows the Emperor of Germany, Wenceslaus and Charles VI of France, sitting in council, probably in the cathedral of Rheims, to devise means for terminating the schism in the Roman Church in the 14th century. From The Century Edition of Cassell's History of England, published 1901.
