Architecture / RenaissanceThe Ch鈚eau de Verneuil-en-Halatte; also called Royal Castle of Henri IV; circa 1650 (Front and back facades).(Designed in the 1550s by Jacques Ier Androuet du Cerceau for Philippe IV de Boulainvilliers; the castle was organized around a square courtyard and closed by a gallery without a floor. Its architecture is of great ornamental richness. In 1599; King Henri IV bought the unfinished chateau and offered it with the title of marquise to Henriette d'Entragues. The Ch鈚eau's last owner Louis IV Henri de Bourbon-Cond?never lived in the castle; which was rapidly degrading. The demolition began around 1734 and continued for some forty years; with the recovery of stones for the construction of the Marquis de Villette castle in Saron).3D Reconstruction; 2017.
