SANTA ROSA OF LIMA (Isabel Flores de Oliva; 1586-1617). The saint was a Dominican tertiary; is depicted with the monastic habit; holding a holy book and a scourge on the right shoulder flies a bird and the head has a crown of roses; her favorite flower. Canonized in 1671; it is the patron saint of Peru; the New World and the Philippines. The liturgical commemoration falls on 23 August. Immaginetta chromolithographic; circa 1900
