Vladimir Ilyich Lenin; (born Ulyanov).Russian revolutionary politician.Simbirsk (now Ulyanovsk) 22.4.1870 - Gorky near Moscow 21.1.1924.Lenin speaks at Sverdlov Square (former theater) in Moscow to soldiers of the Red Army before their departure to the front (Russian-Polish War); Right on the steps of the tribune standing: Leo Trotsky (front) and Lew Kamenev.(After Trotsky and Kamenev had fallen into disgrace under Stalin; only the left third of the picture was used from the 1930s onwards.)
