Thomas Craig (c.1538-1608), Scottish legal scholar (jurist), lawyer and poet. Craig studied at the University of St Andrews and then studied law in France. He returned to Scotland where he was made a justice and presided over many criminal trials. He was knighted in 1604 by King James I (VI of Scotland). He was one of the Scottish commissioners on the personal union between Scotland and England. He wrote on the Scottish and English legal systems, and also published poetry.
