Arabs capture Castel Hill Castel Hill and Castel Village have changed hands many times , first being held by the arabs and then being captured by the jews . The Hill and village are now strongly held by the Jews . It was in the fighting for this hill that the Arab Commander of Jerusalem Abdel Kader Husseini , was killed leading an attack on the village . Castel is vital to the Jews - loss of which would entail 90,000 Jews in Jerusalem being cut off from their food supplies .
